Josh Kroeker is the Chief Product Officer of Contour, a network leading the transformation of the trade finance industry using blockchain-based solutions.     Josh has 17 years of experience in senior positions across trade finance business development, trade finance product management, learning and development, and corporate banking innovation in Singapore, Hong Kong and Canada. He was previously the global blockchain lead at HSBC, one of the world’s leading trade finance banks.   Josh’s passion is to increase the accessibility of trade finance through technology and he has been involved in a majority of the industry’s trade digitisation efforts in the past decade, particularly in regard to traditional trade products. Most recently, he has led a global innovation team pioneering the use of blockchain to provide a breakthrough for trade and trade finance, a notoriously difficult-to-change industry.     Globally recognised as a leader in this space including being named one of Forbes Blockchain Top 50, Josh's goal is to help banks, corporates, and the wider trade ecosystem on their journey to a digital trade future.  Contour is a Singapore-based fintech formed by a group of leading trade banks. Its investors include tier-one banks such as Citi, HSBC, Standard Chartered and BNP Paribas. Contour was formed in January 2020 and shortly transitioned to live production a year later, offering digitised letters of credit (LC) as its first product. In 2021, Contour launched an Innovation Lab under Josh’s charge to experiment with new trade products. The company has doubled in size to drive these offerings. In 2022, Josh revamped the fintech’s architecture in a game-changing release to ensure the network can realistically scale to all areas of trade finance with a decentralised web-based solution that will give large enterprises (banks and MNCs) flexibility, while providing a low-cost SaaS solution for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).   As a leading DeFi player, Contour is planning to expand its product offerings to include a digital trade asset marketplace, digitised guarantees and standby letters of credit in the next 12 months. The company now has over 100 members in its network, with 18 banks spanning over 51 countries. Contour has won numerous awards including the GTR Award for best Fintech in Trade in 2022 and Leader in Trade for Digitalisation in 2021. It was also named Best Trade Finance Solution in 2021 by Treasury Management International.
