Laura Wilkinson

Laura has been living in Singapore for almost 3 years now, but her roots lie in the rural North of England, where she grew up in a farming family. After 5 years of working on a trading floor, Laura made the leap from Banking to Fintech in the pursuit of more flexibility, and the opportunity to make a genuine impact working on the front-line of a 15 year-old company, rather than a 150 year-old one!

Since joining Currencycloud, she has never looked back. Laura loves working in an environment where she is building things, with people, to help people (#bettertogether!). She’s also a bit of a nerd, with a degree in Mathematics, and a love for a nice spreadsheet. Laura finds it incredibly exciting working within the APAC region, home to almost two thirds of the World's population; where the VC scene is thriving, and the move to digital is a force to be reckoned with.

At Currencycloud, Laura works closely with Remittance businesses, FX Brokers and Wealthechs, backing their bold ideas, and helping them solve the problems they encounter in moving money overseas. She looks forward to meeting more people within the Fintech World and deepening her expertise. Laura is a firm believer that we should never stop learning, and should use failures as well as successes as opportunities to grow.
