Co-founder, Epic Angels
I'm a Dutch management consultant-turned-education-entrepreneur-turned-investor, living in Singapore.
After a 15+ year international career at PriceWaterhouseCoopers and then as Director at Deutsche Bank as Director in Amsterdam, London and Frankfurt, I pivoted in 2019 to become a founder in the Education Technology sector, driven by a passionate belief that the future of learning can and should be so much more than what is currently offered in conventional education institutions. I became Germany’s first country manager for modern education system and coding school “42”, and together with an awesome team of volunteers, we found funding with Volkswagen and the foundation of Lidl-founder Dieter Schwarz for the establishment of the first two 42-campuses in Germany, we drafted the student recruitment strategy and hired talent to run the schools. Both campuses launched successfully early 2021.
Working and living in Singapore since end 2020, I continue to work with and invest in founders in the EdTech and Future of Learning and Work space in Southeast Asia.
I enjoy sharing my corporate and founder experiences and insights for the development of others, especially early-stage founders and also I coach and train leaders to 'rethink business' and stay adaptable. Keen to especially help other women advance their careers and scale their impact, I co-founded Epic Angels, a female angel investors network that aims to democratize angel investing and give more women the confidence to invest in start-ups.
I am a mum of 2 young boys and am a speaker in both Europe and Southeast Asia on the topics of Future of Learning, Start-ups and Investing, Career Pivots, and Education Technology.
