Chow Wei serves as the Head of Consumer Product in NETS.
Chow Wei comes from a rich digital payment background dating back to 1995 when he was employed in Sembawang Media/Pacific Internet where he was responsible for the creation of the first online eCommerce store in Singapore and the first online e-ticketing system for the Singapore Art Festival. In the last 8 years, Chow Wei has contributed significantly in the area of product development at NETS, spanning across ecosystems, merchant solutions and consumer products.
Most notably, Chow Wei is a key contributor to the development of 'Hawkers Go Digital' initiative where he was the product and project owner, which saw more than 50% of 18,000 stallholders in Singapore offering e-payment solutions. He was also involved in the Smart Buddy implementation at many public schools, where he was responsible to support DBS in the project to drive contactless payments for children. More recently, during the pandemic period, he was responsible for the emergency disbursement of funds from IMDA to hawkers where he operationalised the process to disburse funds on a monthly basis to hawkers that qualified for the funding.
